The BrickWorth LEGO Investment Index ranks the 20 biggest-appreciating sets from a curated pool of collector-grade LEGO sets spanning Star Wars, Harry Potter, Architecture, Creator Expert, and Technic themes.
Appreciation is estimated from each set's retirement status, years since discontinuation, piece count, and theme. Retired sets typically gain 20% per year post-discontinuation, with a bonus for sets over 1,000 or 3,000 pieces. Sets still available at retail receive a smaller premium based on age.
Estimated current value is the RRP multiplied by the appreciation factor. Real secondary market prices on BrickLink or eBay may differ. This index is for informational purposes and is not financial advice.

Why do retired sets gain more?
Once LEGO stops making a set, supply is fixed but collector demand keeps growing. Prices typically climb 6 to 18 months after retirement.
